Am Back...

It has been an awfully long time. I mean really long. The holy month of ramadan meant that I could not eat out as frequently as I would have liked to. Add to the fact that the wife thinks I need to lose weight, I mean a lot of weight. So its not been all happy happy eating out in Foodsville.

However, every dark could has a silver lining. In my case this was our Eid trip to the beautiful wonderful Istanbul. Below is just a teaser. The real post will follow soon.

Maharaja, translated in to english, means the Great King. And so when Maharaja by Vineet opened its doors in Saudi a long time back, I was really looking forward to a feast. Arabian Nights.

The long absence from my last post is attributed to the summer here in Jeddah. It has started. It is getting really hot here, so much so that we have been avoiding stepping out most of the week. But finally we decided to venture out as I felt a part of my life missing without being able to taste some of the wonders that Jeddah restaurants have to offer and to be able to post it on the blog. So 4 of us decided that we needed some local flavor to soothe our systems and the unanimous choice was Montazah Al Nakheel (Palm gardens) located along the Jeddah cornice. We were introduced to this place by our Saudi friends in Jeddah, a wonderful couple who appreciate the finer things in life. Its good to be back!

A few years ago, when i stopped blogging, it was for 2 reasons:- 1.) I was Lazy! 2.) I thought the food scene in Jeddah was not happening and it felt kind of saturated to post anything new. All that has changed now. Of course I am still lazy, but the food scene in Jeddah is literally exploding with new places. So where do I begin from? Of all the places i have been to recently, one place stands out amongst the rest. We used to always lament the fact that we miss authentic Gourmet Indian food. Of course, both Zaika and Bharat are up there on the list, but we felt this was not enough. This is no longer a problem! Punjab grill opened doors sometime last month, and boy, was it worth the wait! This restaurant is located in the Ascott hotel at the end of Sari street.
