Its good to be back!

A few years ago, when i stopped blogging, it was for 2 reasons:-

1.) I was Lazy!
2.) I thought the food scene in Jeddah was not happening and it felt kind of saturated to post anything new.

All that has changed now. Of course I am still lazy, but the food scene in Jeddah is literally exploding with new places.

So where do I begin from?

Of all the places i have been to recently, one place stands out amongst the rest. We used to always lament the fact that we miss authentic Gourmet Indian food. Of course, both Zaika and Bharat are up there on the list, but we felt this was not enough.

This is no longer a problem!

Punjab grill opened doors sometime last month, and boy, was it worth the wait!
This restaurant is located in the Ascott hotel at the end of Sari street.

We obviously had great expectations from this place, having always loved their innovation, their playfullness, their unique twist combining authentic Indian cuisine with the contemporary.

The location is easy to locate. Towards the end of Sari street, just before Stars avenue mall, is the new Ascott hotel. Punjab Grill is located within the same presmises of Ascott hotel.

As of now, they open only for dinner at 6.00 pm.

When we arrived the staff was friendly and welcoming. We immediately felt comfortable and at home. The chef, Zaheer, came in to greet us as well. It was good to know that he has moved in here from the Original restaurant in Delhi and is helping in establishing the brand here.

We did not even order, he recommended everything himself. The food kept coming in and our faces kept smiling. Every dish was unique in itself. I will not give you details of what we ate, you should go and try it out for yourself. But 2 dishes stood out amongst the rest, the laban kebaba and the beetroot kebab.

So, when you head out to this place, do not forget to order these. You can thank me after you have tried them!

So, here is wishing you all happy times ahead. And yes, it feels great to be back!
